Ecosystem services

What do they mean for cities?

Ecosystem services are a useful way of categorizing the value of nature, and the different benefits of nature. Using the word “services” indicates the importance of nature - comparable to other services municipalities provide. This makes it more visible on the policy-making agenda and helps communities to become more aware of the need to protect it.
