Now more than ever we need to work for more sustainable cities increasing the value of their urban nature. That's why in Vitacura we present our Green Infrastructure Plan , which aims to create a green network that integrates and increases nature, provides better wellbeing for our neighbors and increases it's resilience to climate change, reducing urban heat islands and better carbon capture.

Cerro Manquehue is the main natural mountain corridor in Vitacura, it represents the core element for which connectivity is enhanced.
Vitacura is providing innovation at all it scales, searching for new spaces to incorporate native flora in the urban landscape. This grassland is located at the main urban park "Parque Bicentenario"
Community development is a key important aspect in Vitacura's Green Infraestructure Plan, the picture shows neighbors working on the mantainance of public parks on a Saturday morning.
Vitacura has implemented already more than 30 orchards in the scholar community providing nature connection, and environmental based education.
Manquehue street is the first ecological corridor of the Green Infraestructure Plan, before it was an only grass patch, that was completely transformed with the incorporation of more than 20 different species of plants, aumenting biodiversity and beauty on a high traffic street.
Community participation and creating knowledge is a fundamental aspecto of deveoloping healthy, sustainable, green cities.
