In 2010, our city declared itself an "Ecological City". Since then, our teams have been committed to a development of our city that preserves our natural resources, that enhances and ensures sustainable management of our resources, and that guarantees a good quality of life for our current and future generations. The city of Chefchaouen has integrated its vision of sustainability in territorial planning documents. The new 2022-2027 Municipal Action Plan and our various actions in favor of environmental protection and biodiversity preservation are testimony to this.
We are proud to see our efforts honored by a number of awards and labels.
City member of the network of learning cities of UNESCO, which Chefchaouen is committed to adopt within its local management, the policy of lifelong learning in the field of sustainable development and heritage.
