The Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) spreads 636 km2 on the Mediterranean Basin and hosts a population of 3.2 million people from 36 different municipalities. Our area’s diverse terrain, with coastal mountain ranges and two fluvial and river mouth systems allow for different habitats and species to concentrate in a reduced geographic area. AMB also counts with more than 30 km of beaches and a network of more than 50 urban and periurban parks.
