Linked to the construction of the Cape Town Stadium for the FIFA 2010 event on Green Point Common became a catalyst to transform what had become a dysfunctional public open space into a vibrant public amenity and destination as a high quality multi-functional park.

This report draws attention to the existence, importance, condition and level of threat of non-recreational, particularly seasonal wetlands within its boundaries. The intention of the report is to highlight these systems and recommend useful monitoring and/or other measures to allow long-term tracking of wetland condition and to inform conservation and other imperatives.
